This is frostbite, which usually presents with a discoloration of the skin, burning/tingling sensation, partial or complete numbness and sometimes pain.

Eww, I hate toes.

Ok, now for my guess - as the OB nurse. I'll say Gout. Presenting complaint is usually pain in the big toe.

I know I'm wrong, but it was the only thing I could think of.

Frostbite

White or grayish yellow in color with a hardening or waxy texture to the skin.

Frostbite, severe 1st degree. Most commonly presents on extremities after exposure to cold. May appear as numb, blanched or erythematous areas; formation of sterile blisters follows.
